EPUBFILE
EpubFile (operated by Zhentao Wen, "we", "us") is a free, browser-based EPUB reader and a set of free tools for ebook creators. This policy explains what data is collected when you use epubfile.com, and — just as importantly — what isn't.
The short version: EpubFile is designed so that your books, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings never leave your device. We don't have a server that stores your library, and we can't see what you're reading.
When you open an EPUB file in the EpubFile reader, the file is processed entirely in your browser using local storage technology (IndexedDB). This means:

This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. It is never linked to any book content, file names, or reading activity, since that information never reaches our servers in the first place. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that follow you across other websites.
EpubFile loads a small number of third-party libraries and fonts from public content delivery networks (CDNs) to function, including jsDelivr, unpkg, and Google Fonts. These services may log standard request data (such as IP address) as part of normal CDN operation, governed by their own privacy policies. No book content or personal data is sent to these services beyond a standard library/font request.
If you email us (for example, regarding book design services), we will use your email address and message content only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without explicit consent, and we do not sell or share your contact information with third parties.
EpubFile is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the reader and tools store data only locally in the browser, no personal data is transmitted to us regardless of the user's age.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) regarding personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete data, and to object to processing. Because EpubFile does not collect or store personal data on its own servers, most of these rights are automatically satisfied — your data simply doesn't exist outside your browser. For analytics data held by Google, you can exercise your rights directly via Google's privacy controls.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of EpubFile after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
